A spoonful of honey is the lifetime work of 12 honey bees.

Let us savour their gifts in gratitude and moderation.

Angelika is steward for 13 beehives, each addressed by their own name inspired by mythological characters. At the height of summer, she thanks around half a million bees for giving us humans a share of their sustenance. By taking part of their honey, Angelika enters into a relationship of care and responsibility with them. It becomes her duty to ensure they have enough food for the winter and to treat them against disease.

The harvested honey is usually given to friends and family, particularly at special occasions such as Christmas or weddings. There is a long tradition of gifting newly married couples a month’s worth of honey - hence the term honey-moon.

For organisations who want to support the beekeeping work, they can become bee sponsors and get a share of the honey harvest in return.

The honey is certified organic by control agency Lacon and has always received the Golden Quality Seal of Upper Austria in past years, which is awarded for premium quality and taste.
